这就是林长俊绘画作品给我最大的感受，诗一般画，画里藏着诗，云雾如涌，湖平如镜，欸乃一声，渔舟轻泛水面，林长俊的作品就会让人沉浸在美好的遐想中。林长俊自幼酷好翰墨，年轻时他临摹宋、明、清等名家之作，孜孜探求，一个有成就的艺术家就是一个不追逐名利、默默的辛勤耕耘者，他经常鞭策自己朝着艺术的高峰不断攀登，对一切美好的事物充满着爱，这就是他艺术创作的动力。在中国画创作中，他认为笔墨线条是最大的问题，也是最关键的东西，一幅中国画没有笔墨的话是不能称之为中国画，中国画的线条之所以内涵丰富、出神入化，是跟笔墨有着很大关系，除了笔墨、色彩在中国画也是非常重要的，在人们印象中一提色彩就想到西画，其实中国画有着自己的色彩表现手法和优良传统，其特征就是大气、静穆、雄浑、沉厚，蕴含着中国民族的个性，林长俊的作品正是继承着这一传统特点，他的青绿山水画在传统的基础上有着个人创新特色。林长俊也是和他同龄人一样，中学刚毕业就赶上轰轰烈烈的上山下乡，五年的农村生活积累了丰富乡村田园印象，在农村时他时常带着速写本爬上山头，直到夕阳西下，踏着落日的余辉，走在乡间的小道上，在这里画出了一幅幅乡间田园风貌，丛林深处人家几户，青山碧水，白墙红瓦，深浓处郁郁葱葱，平淡时若隐若现，山川云气，暮霭晚霞，尽收眼底。

林长俊以一个现代画家的文化自觉，保持着自己的民族特色及文化精神本质，他酷爱自然山水中那变幻莫测、令人激动的瞬间，古木奇树、山亭野水、三两渔舟在他的作品中都被描得淋漓尽致。在他的作品中多以描写江南山水的风貌，清彩中含典雅、厚重内见灵秀，在注重整体艺术效果的同时不失细部刻画，凭着他的勤奋加上现代人绘画观念的更新，有机地把握着他熟悉的江南山水固有的自然景观，一叶满舟、数点归鸥、几笔浅滩、一抹清流、山村晚霞、渔人高歌的画面都时常出现在他的作品中。在当代山水画各种风格流派并存的格局中，林长俊能以自己独特地面貌占据一席之地，是与他多年艺术追求和特有个人风格分不开的。林长俊认为，中国山水画除了要把握造型能力、笔墨技艺外，还讲究个人的内心感受，讲究物与我、情与景的交融，个人的悟性和灵感是绘画之关键。

经过多年努力和追求，林长俊的作品多次参加了江苏省美协和中国美术家协会举办的国内外的重大美术展出和艺术交流，这是他个人多年奋斗的艺术成果。
